Crash Pad Safety & Community Guidelines

BEFORE YOUR STAY

1. Personal Responsibility

Participating in Crash Pad is similar to meeting new people, travelling, or going on a first date — use common sense and trust your judgment.

By participating, you acknowledge that:

  • All arrangements are made independently between hosts and guests.
  • AcroEssence does not conduct background checks or verify identities.
  • You are responsible for your own safety, conduct, and belongings.
  • Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to participate.

If something feels off, trust your instincts and don’t proceed.

2. Do Your Homework

Before confirming any stay or meetup:

  • Review profiles carefully for real names, photos, and complete descriptions.
  • Read references to understand others’ experiences.
  • Pay attention to what’s missing — unclear or vague information is worth asking about.
  • Review house details and privacy expectations.
  • If attending an event or hangout, review who’s attending and where it’s taking place. Get to know the location, particularly if you’re in an unfamiliar area.

If something feels unclear or rushed, pause and reassess.

3. Be Informed & Prepared
  • Be sure you’re aware of local customs, cultural and religious differences, and sensitivities for everywhere you go.
  • Be aware that gender roles, expectations, and social norms vary widely.
  • Research general safety recommendations for each place that you travel.
  • Have a backup plan in case things don’t work out.
  • Always let a trusted family member friend, coach, or studio know where exactly where you’ll be staying.

Always do your homework ahead of time to prevent unwanted surprises and negative experiences.

4. Communicate Clearly

Use the AcroEssence private messaging system rather than giving out any personal contact information until you’ve met and feel comfortable doing so.

Before confirming:

  • Discuss details such as length of stay, sleeping arrangements, house rules, pets, and allergies.
  • Share arrival and departure dates and times.
  • Be honest and clear about your purpose of travel, training plans, and experience level.
  • Exchange full names and social media profiles when appropriate.

Clear communication prevents misunderstandings and keeps everyone safe and comfortable.

DURING YOUR STAY

1. Respect & Boundaries

All participants should:

  • Respect personal boundaries at all times.
  • Keep interactions professional and consent-based.
  • Learn house expectations (quiet hours, access, schedules) and respect shared spaces and house rules.
  • Address concerns calmly and directly when safe to do so.
  • Leave any situation that feels unsafe — you are never obligated to stay.

Harassment, pressure, or inappropriate behavior should not be tolerated.

2. Stay Aware
  • Take time to get to know your host or guest.
  • Make sure the situation matches what was agreed upon.
  • Keep your phone accessible and maintain contact with trusted people.
  • Keep valuables secure.
  • Know your limits. Excessive alcohol or substance use not only impairs judgment but puts your safety and well-being in the hands of others.

If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and remove yourself from the situation.

3. Training & Physical Safety
  • If using personal training space, hosts should clearly communicate what their training space and equipment entails.
  • Always train within your ability.
  • When using someone else’s training equipment (especially not within a professional studio setting) spotting, rigging, and partner work should only happen with mutual consent and proper experience.
  • AcroEssence is not responsible for injuries sustained during training or travel.

Whether training on your own, with others, or under the guidance of professionals, you are always responsible for your own safety. Ask questions, inquire, and double check safety protocols before engaging in training.

AFTER YOUR STAY

1. Leave References
  • Leave honest, respectful feedback after your stay.

References help keep the community safe and informed.

2. In The Event of a Negative Experience

If you experience or witness unsafe or inappropriate behavior:

  • Remove yourself from the situation immediately.
  • Contact local authorities if needed.
  • Report the incident to AcroEssence so we can help maintain a safe community. Reports are confidential, and we reserve the right to remove users from the Crash Pad network if concerns are raised.
  • Leave an honest public reference to help others make informed decisions.

AcroEssence does not organize, host, supervise, or verify Crash Pad arrangements and assumes no responsibility for the actions, conduct, or safety of participants.
